RATION Cover Reveal

Book cover featuring young woman staring directly toward the viewer. Cover titled RATION by Cody T Luff.

Boom that's it.

That big hero image in your email.

After lots of sweat and hard work, Working Title's new speculative horror imprint Crawlspace is releasing a new, Kickstarter edition of Cody's debut novel, RATION.

We've got you covered for a print and ebook edition. Oh, and naturally there are bundles with our short story anthologies.

Cody has written a new intro, created a few additions, and generally made all those improvements that every author wants to make once the first print run hits the bookstores.

But he got a second chance, and dived on it. You know, like a grenade.

RATION is not a comfortable book. You won't have sweet dreams after reading it. You might wonder why the hell you did. In a good way.

But it is worth it.

Cynthia's story needs to be told, needs to reach up through the cracks in the floorboards and root itself in your soul, like it did mine. A story of desperation, hunger, of how the world gnaws away pieces of you until, if you let it, nothing remains, yet still a story with unexpected moments of grace.

Cody tells it with a lightness and beauty of line that you almost don't notice the cuts.

Don't worry. You'll heal.

Mostly.

This is what Cody has to say about RATION:

💡
RATION arrived in my thoughts for the first time while I was away from home. It came to me as the sound of bare feet on a wet carpet, the stuttering run of someone pursued. I remember standing in the hallway of my run down hotel, waiting for the rest of the story to follow but Cynthia did not find me until some months later. As she told me her story inside my mind, I was appalled at what she would endure. It was a heavy thing, this darkness Cynthia needed to share, so heavy that I wasn’t sure I could do her story the justice it required.

I think he did.
